Concerning the article, in our local paper,  these tinctures and edibles
dont neccesarily have to be for "getting stoned", and a father in the article described how the a particular tincture managed to keep his childs' epileptic seizures in check, with-out the use of the powerful anti-psychotics that are used, which double as anti-seizure medicines.
The anti-seizure medicines (Depakote and Trileptal are two of them used) were producing serious psych sx in the child,  and once the pills were substituted for medical cannabis, the child was able to function much more normally.

LOL..................
Are you kidding me, they still are flying the Confederate flag here, sadly. You get more time for MJ possession than you do for most crimes. They think Hep-C is a vocational School.

I've found that each site seems to have their attributes but none has everything.
hepcchallenge.org had good information about where to get tested across the U.S.
hepcadvoce.org is a great beginning place and includes up to date news on hep C.
Only the hepcvets site talks specifically about vets and the airgun connection, etc.

I also checked out the Dr.s and authors........pretty impressive resume's. Lets see if they answer.

They do have some great up to date info about Vaccines and other new questions that have popped up. I was particularly interested in the Shingles vaccine. I did find out the recommended age was lowered to 50 and now most insurances cover it. As a matter of fact, the pharmacies here in St Pete, FL are now offering them as well. That is new!

Shingles, pneumonia, (which now seems to be highly recommended) and Flu,

Here is the list of recommended vaccines for Hep-C

Thank you for your input!

Rivll,
This is what I sent to the site. Lets see how they respond?
Thanks for pointing that out. I read right over it.
2+ weeks EOT and the words sometimes still play musical chairs on the page.

Patient information: Hepatitis C (Beyond the Basics)

The statement made in your 2nd paragraph:

"Hepatitis C is caused by a virus that is spread from one person to another in blood and body fluids, such as by sharing IV drug needles, or "works", or during pregnancy and delivery".

Is incorrect.......Hep-C can only be transferred thru direct blood contact "Only", body fluids is not correct.

Please if you can, explain your basis for this statement.

I am a Hep-C patient, 3 times on treatment, and I am actively involved in Hep-C Awareness education. This statement, according to Dr. Michael Houghton, Alberta Hospital, the Dr. who discovered and named Hep-C is false.

As Bo pointed out that one study was seriously flawed because the participant all drank alcohol as well.

However as our livers are filters it seems if you liver is seriously damaged smoke, of any kind, would not be good. What the study doesn't consider is edibles or tinctures.

The federal illegal status of cannabis makes testing difficult.
For this reason little research is done on medical cannabis.

However, one lab has had remarkable results:

I'd like to add my personal experience. When doing tx and having a week's worth of intense muscular back pain, I finally accepted a cannabis brownie from a friend. The next morning all my back pain was gone. Knowing that interferon can cause firbamyalgia, I did a search and found this was one accepted use for medicinal cannabis.
After that, I would eat one brownie after my interferon shot each week, to counteract the muscles contracting in my back.
Truthfully, I found the brownies left me groggy headed but it was worth it for the pain relief.

"Hepatitis C is caused by a virus that is spread from one person to another in blood and body fluids, such as by sharing IV drug needles, or "works", or during pregnancy and delivery." 2nd paragraph of the introduction from link provided.
Interesting about the study. Bo girl and working dog--- good points regarding MJ and also studies.
It really helped me with the intense pain during treatment and before, I was able to avoid taking tylenol and drugs to help me sleep, so I think I actually helped my liver. Didn't smoke it and certainly never drank. Still, as WD said , regular ingesting of most things would be hard on the liver and I wouldn't recommend anything like this long term or for regular use.

I didn't see where it said bodily fluids only thru blood, which we all already know.

But I did find a study on MJ

Interesting!

lots of studies are misleading as they don't take into account lifestyles...i would guess if you ingested enough of almost anything it would be hard on your liver...

I could only find one small study done, concerning "marajuana smokers", but  these subjects may have smoked pot and drank alcohol, it wasn't made clear.
I didn't find any studies on Medical Marajuana Edibles or Tinctures, to be used, to ease Tx sx. But I would think that a Tainted Edible would be more safe then, say...Ambien. I have witnessed the first hand-effects of drugs like Ambien, and the diazapams are even more dangerous.
It's hard for me to believe that marajuana is a more dangerous chemical then all the medications that Big Pharma prescribe to people all the time, for example, the psych drugs, such as the anti-depressants and the anti-psychotics, would seem to tax the liver more~ but there is no mention of this~

I am concerned because the information states that Hep. C can be transmitted through blood or bodily fluids.
There are also no links for the statements made concerning MJ, diet and so on...

The only thing I could find about marijuana usage dealt with disorders not with it's healing properties.

Ironically, this article came out in my local freebie publication today:

Marijuana: Gateway To Health?
Bay Area journalist and cannabis activist Clint Werner has found self-publishing success with a medical marijuana research reference book.
