Yeah chick peas are the same thing
Gotta try this. Cept I don't like garbanzo beans.
Garbanzo beans are chick peas??
Yay everybody......party at Bill's!!!!!!
Yummy eats. Just made mine again this past weekend.
Thanks for bumping this thread back up - I'm heading out for tahini now.
Countdown is on - just a few more pills. Fantastic!
BTW Bill, I'm coming to your house to eat ;^)

Good grief; I helped three friends relocate those last few months of treatment… moving’s a lot of work. Time to sort through heavily, before the stuff that never gets used finds new digs :).
Best to you; let me know how things go as the haze lifts,
Bill
How do I feel? Slightly overcooked. ;)
Last shot was last night. I'm ready to start the long climb back. We moved into our new home a couple of weeks ago and that got my mind off of counting the days. I've been spending my time buried in boxes and wondering why I have so much stuff!
Thanks :o). I’m actually soaking beans as we speak… really! What a coincidence! I tried dried cici's a few weeks ago; they work really well. I also invested in a can of tahini... it's pricey, but lasts for a long time. I only use two or three tablespoons in the recipe.
You’re nearing the end of your journey soon? How do you feel about that?
This is sooooo good. I'm about to make it again. :) BTW--I started with dry beans.
I love hummus! You guys got me so curious now, I will soak the chick peas leave them till tomorrow and cook them in salt and spices in the morning. I usually make a lot and freeze them in several zip lock bags to use in couscous sauces or salads...
Sounds so much better than the chicken liver thread. I did try your recipe on that and it was truly fantastic!
such a fresh and healthy snack! sounds very yummy, thanks for sharing :)
Bill my friend! That recipe sounds great!!! I love to cook and will definitely give that one a try. You should start a recipe thread!
Hehehe, it doesn’t last long if you’ve already starting eating it :o). I go through a bowl in a few hours, Bug. The cumin gives it a smoky flavor, but I think hummus is good with just the lemon juice and garlic. Thanks for stopping back in; and enjoy—
Bill
Just made this and it's awesome. I didn't have one of my favorite (and a key ingredient) the comino, but I added a seasoning that has cumin it it. Yes, a processed, non-organic seasoning, but I didn't add the 1/2 tsp of salt, so I think I'm even almost....
Eating it by myself, how long does hummus last?
Oh Bill! You culinary artist you, I can't wait to try this. Ilove hummus.
There's not many foods I don't like. I use to play a game that I self-titled "stump the pig". I'd ask patients to stand and throw bean bags while trying to name a food I didn't like. There aren't many! I mean really, things that gross most people out, I can enjoy making a snack of. Ever had menudo?
Maybe you should have made the tilte of this "Food-do you love it?":)
Shakespeare said "If music be the food of love, play on" (ok not much to do with love of eating)
George Bernard Shaw's " There is no sincerer love than the love of food" describes my love life....
and this one is a little cheesy, but what the heck, just quoting others: "Great food is like great sex. The more you have the more you want. ~Gael Greene
Can't wait to try the hummus with my family, thanks again!
Ah, thanks!!
So great to have a translator here from time to time =D Hehe...
This sounds great! I can't wait to try it. I love the stuff I buy at the store, but I bet this is much better!
Thanks!

My hummus: 2 cans Bushes Best Chick Peas-drained (i like them better than dried)
Olive oil, garlic, lemon juice: all to taste
add some tahini/pea nut butter...go light either way =)
blend in food processor until just the right consistancy(trial/error)
My pesto Fresh basil and mint from the garden....whichever I have the most of I use
more of. Garlic, nuts(any I have on hand) some hard cheese (any I have

Triscuts are the best....have y'all tried the new ones shaped like triangles?

garbanzos are chickpeas - kikærter
cilantro - koriander
tahini- is made from sesame - sesam smør
Glad you are enjoying your meal my friend =)
Would try to copy you if it weren't for the fact that I'm not so good with the American non SI-units and don't understand all the ingredients. A bit too advanced English for me :P
