Good luck on your bx, didn't feel a thing. The worse part was having to stay in the hospital afterwards for 4 hours...... Take care
No comparison! Pulling my wisdom teeth was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. For me, it was worse than childbirth.
My husband was just as scared as I was before the liver biopsy. He was the one hyperventilating. We both felt really foolish because it was so easy, for me anyway.
As Can-do mentioned, the hard part of the process was hanging around afterwards. I hate hospitals.
Mine was uncomfortable, but the anticipation was WAY WORSE! I was told to take it easy for a few days..No lifting 280 lb patients, chopping wood, etc.) (My Dr was very thorough! -He took 5 samples! I was beginning to wonder if he thought liver ventilation was a hep C cure!LOL) Here's the cool thing. My biopsy showed stage one, grade one..Which means, the liver can repair itself with eradication of the hep C and time! In a few years, I may get another BX done. For now, I'm crossing the fingers for an SVR...
(((((((((((((((((((((HUGZ))))))))))))))))) It will be fine... ~Melinda
P.S. Wisdom teeth were definitely worse!
You could ask for sedation... I did for my second one and the whole process was so smooth, I thought I was having a day stay in a relaxing health spa!
I could use a day stay in a relaxing health spa....
No advice from here, I never got one ... ;-(
Just wanted to say good luck with it and from I've heard, it is nothing to get worked up about.
Hugs, Marcia
My liver biopsy was PAIN FREE and took no more than 2 minutes. They put a local
on the skin had no pain killers and I was fine. Was in recovery for few hours all I had was a twinging kind of feeling in the liver for awhile-Nothing that required pain meds.
Drillling of a tooth was worse!
You'll be fine!!
Very best of luck!

Definately the worst part of my biopsy was the anticipation. The whole thing lasted about a minute-if that.
Medicmommy: Liver ventilation......good one ; )
Good luck, Shnoogy. Let us know how it goes.

Take the sedative they offer,,, it was worth it,, I was soooo relaxed, I remember the doc positioning me and moving my legs over as he said lets move these and I said these are legs doc.... was funny then its nice to have any humour during any of this.
Good luck,,, just lay back, breathe deeply, and enjoy the rest.
