What I'm not saying.

I've been holding off on saying this but I'm worried about my 12 week labs. Stewed all week, and got my VL test done this morning. All has gone well so far, UND at 8 weeks, with Vic. Only, I've had 2 shots that were a little leaky. Same ole story, of course, if I got 80% I should be good. I have been stressed and expecting the worse. Hey I'm a positive person, but this treatment wil drive you nuts. Either way, you know I'll be crying when I get the results next week. At least, due to this forum, I know there are other options on the horizon. Thanx for listening; it helps.

Blood was drawn on Friday, and I get the results in the mail. VL tests usually take longer. Pretty sure my doc wasn't in the office today so I didn't bother to call. Not worrying any more, it is what it is. Hey, I'm glad you're results we're good. Today I downloaded an app. on my phone for Quest. In the future I'll get results faster. Also very curious about my hgb; still able to swim, though.
Cheers,

I was wondering why you do not have your results yet. I just realised you had  your labs done on a Saturday (July 30). My 24 week labs came out OK. I bet yours will too. :)

I am using pegasys proclick. For my 3 month supply they sent me prefilled syringes. After the first inj. I went to wipe clean the inj. site and felt slime. Unfortunately I hadn't looked first, so wasn't sure. Next time, no problem. Then third syringe was fine but at the last sec. I look and see a wet spot. Arrrghh! Finally I have it arranged to only get proclicks. I did talk w my doctor, and he mentioned the 80% deal. Of course the days that I felt good, we're just evidence that I didn't get enough medicine. Hate my brain.
Thanx for the post and the good luck cheer. Probably won't know 'till after the 4th. I'll definitely post my good news.

Are you using the PegIntron Redipens?  I am amazed every week at the leakage when I take the needle protector off but the directions say to expect that.  Still it is a little disconcerting.  It seems wasteful.  Still, I was UND after my second week of Victrelis and have remained that way throughout tx so I guess the leakage has not hurt anything.

Good luck on those 12 W labs.  I will be looking for your post

Im rooting for you too. I may have results by tomorrow. For now I'm chillin'. Blood is drawn. Not much I can do now. Ideally I'm UND, and continue tx thru 28 weeks.
Sending good voodoo to all,

I know exactly what you mean. I had my 24 week labs drawn on Friday and I was worried all weekend. I needed to be UND to continue treating.  I swear waiting for lab results is like walking on a tight rope. We are all rooting for you!

Oops, somehow thought you were talking about 12 eot.  I wouldn't sweat the 12 week PCR.  You should be fine.  But it sure is comforting to see it on paper.  Hope the remainder of tx goes well for you.  And the riding coast to coast - awesome.  Keep exercizing some if you feel up to it.  It always made me feel better.  Best of luck to you.

Thanx for your reply. By the way, tomorrow nite is shot 13. Wish I was 12 weeks eot. Congrats on your successes so far. I see that you are often really helpful on this forum. I guess my worry comes from wanting positive results and realizing all viruses can be tricky. Also, I did start out w/ pro click INF and then got the pre filled syringes. So after 8 weeks I was dealing w/ the dang syringes. Crossing my fingers.
btw, rode my bike coast to coast in 1989.
Cheers,

I have had more than my share of leaky shots as well as aspirating (is that the proper term?) too much out of the syringe initially (yay! no more of that due to pro click). I also forgot a dose of Incivek during week 5 or 6 as well as my last week. Also, I was taken off Riba for 9 days at week 10 due to an sx. I was still UND at 12 weeks.

I'm waiting for my 12 week results along with you.

I have so much coming at me with my stupid family members and my sick parents the results are just one more thing to add to the pile.

Despite my situation I can certainly relate to the sublte stress of waiting for
the results. I don't think the leaky shots will be a probem. I'm sure there must a little room built into the treatment process for variation. Everyone seems to have some minor treatment issues, but most get past those associated with logistics and dose. I don't think you're going to have a problem.

I recently went through the waiting for the 12 weeks results, so I know exactly what you're going through.  I didn't really think much about the results until I actually went in for the blood draw at 12 week eot.  Then, knowing you'll get the phone call/results in 3-5 days, the anxiety begins to build a bit.  The good thing is most labs work Sat/Sun to process samples, so you should hopefully have the results by Tues/Weds.

At this point you've done all you can to complete tx.  As Can-do said, I wouldn't worry about the leaky shots since it was probably very minor and you have the odds well in your favor for SVR.  Try to stay positive the next few days and hope we hear you Und post and you have lots of happy tears.  Good luck.

Thanx for the encouragement. It puts a little pep in my step as I get ready for work. I've just been holding all this worry in. Hey, you really are the can-do-man. Cheers and enjoy your weekend!

No need to worry about some leaky shots, that has happened to probaly everybody here at different times. Besides the amount that would leak would be hardly enough to cause any problems.

You had a very fast response being und with only 4 weeks with Vic, it just don't get any better then that... Trust me all will be fine at week 12, your on your way to SVR........ Best to you.
