im having some really bad symtoms, hepc?

I am having horrible crampng in my feet, hands, legs, ribs, etc. Also my throat s sore and ths is or does not seem to be a regular sore throat,it seems as if my throat walls have been scraped.I thought maybe ths was some sort of summer cold.My throat inner walls are, or seem to be very swollen as at times I can barely swallow it goes so far down and then comes back up.Ths has been going on now for a couple of years and now is worse.Ive had hepc for 11 yrs now,and think maybe its going nto a much worse stage.I just dont feel good anymore.I had started takng prestiq and quit because all these things started getting worse, and being a recovering addict I know what can happen. My liver s very tender alot more noticable these days.I havent taken any treatments for hep yet had to sober up first .Are these symtoms of hepc.I do not have a shortage of any vitamin ....Unless my liver is not functioning properly,is ths my liver failing?I need as much feed back as I can get Ive not studied up on hep n awhile,I have to lay back down I will be back up around 2or3 to read thanks so much!

Might consider checking in with a gastro doc to have it evalulated.  Could be something like GERD or Barretts.  Doc may suggest an endo scope.  Since you're getting to 'that age' might consider getting the other end (Colon scope) while you're at it.  Just make sure they change the equipment or at least do the endo first.

If you are having this much discomfort for the life of me I can't imagine why you are asking folks on an internet and not just hussling off to a good heptologist or at least a GI who has a busy hepc practice.

Most of us have no symptoms at all that we are aware of until the liver is very badly damaged. While your symptoms could be completely unrelated to HCV you need to know where you stand with liver damage.

For example I had no symptoms but was already stage 3 out of 4 (cirrhosis). You don't want to wait until it's too late.  It's just not the type of disease you can ignore and hope it goes away.........it can kill you if you aren't aware of what is going on and take care of it when you need to.

You say you haven't been able to swallow easily for a couple of years... liver damage can cause the blood vessels in your throat to swell. Did you ever have a biopsy after finding out you have hep c?

If I were you I'd go see a hepatologist as soon as possible. If there isn't one in your area, the second best choice would be a GI who treats many hep c patients.

Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
