Frank566 -- very well said!
I think I've heard enough about Wacko Jacko in the last week. It just illustrates how petty an pathetic our society is when so many in it would idolize someone as obviously messed up as him. I'd rather hear about other, less weird, celebrities who fight an ongoing battle with desease and those who might have succumed to one. We hear very little about the survivors of desease, true heroes who have endured unthinkable things in their battles, like Susanne Somers, Christina Applegate, Kylie Minogue, or those who fight on today like Patrick Swayze, or the nobler ones who have succumed recently like Ed Mcmahon, or Farah Fawcett. They all get overshadowed, it seems, by one of the most bizarre people ever in the public eye. Maybe that's why he is so "newsworthy", because he was such a weirdo. It's like people flocking to a train wreck to witness the blood and gore. I know I am sick of hearing about him. When something comes on TV about him, I change channels. For a while that didn't work either. You had to turn it off all together.
Don't forget to mention Boy Scout leaders, School Teachers, Coaches, Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopal, Mormon, Jehovah Witnesses and Uncles, Aunts, Moms, brothers and sisters when you mention child molesters! I've been a Catholic all my life and saw some obvious effiminate Priests and some tough brothers and never was molested or heard of anyone in my parish being molested. I'm 60 years old and was taught as far back as I can remember what inapproiate touching was. The parents of that child Michael Jackson allegedly molested set him up. Period. No normal parent would let anyone as weird as he was be left alone with him but don't forget more children are molested by the NORMAL looking types than by the weird and obvious ones. God will judge him. It's not for us to judge anyone. I wasn't there. We only know what the media feeds us.
Am I the only person that doesn't care about this? I'm sad about Billy Mays he was a good person not a freak.
everyone wants their 5 min of fame.
Maybe the staff were in on it too.
