I too took it until a month before tx. I did it to sorta pave the way. Now that I'm on tx I don't do anything but the prescribed stuff. I dont want to take any chances.

One of my cats had a damaged liver.  Since I was on tx and not taking it I gave it to him (amount by weight), worked like a charm - he got healthy within a year after the vet wrote him off.

Helpful to some extent, just not a magic tonic and not new.

I think it's pretty accepted that it does some good. The problem with taking it on tx is that in theory, its protective properties could interfere with the imune response in the liver.

Yeah, I took it before tx and now that I am SVR, I will prob start it again....but my goal is to have a healthy liver and not need milk thistle or anything else....

Is it good...probably-inconclusive at worst, doesn't hurt at best, maybe..  But I would advise not to take it on tx because there is no conclusive data good or bad....and you for sure don't want to interfer with the tx drugs.

No magic bullet is right.....
