Burned myself today.

Managed to burn myself on oven today. I know less treatment is often best. Part of the skin is raised up a bit, so I'm watching it closely. I'm hoping my evening swim will cool it down some more. I do not want any problems or infection. Any input?

I agree with OH on the aloe, but keep an eye on infection. I cut my cuticle not too long ago and it got pretty nasty. Antibiotic ointment did help that.

Thanx for the feedback. Concern was for best initial tx. I did put cool tap water on it initially. It's looking ok, so far.
Thanx again,

Aloe vera and vitamin E.
First thing after a burn, immerse the part in cold water. Then put on aloe vera, ideally fresh from the plant, for a day or so. After that vitamin E does the trick.

Ouch sorry about this. How bad of a burn? If you are healing normally then Antibiotic ointment should help. Either way it may blister and be tender. I probably should not say this but I for one feel like the pool helps boo-boos heal faster. I'm thinking with a user name like 1swimmer then you are used to the water and you see what I mean :)
