Try to keep your brother away from crowds so he has less chance of picking up an infection. Make sure he gets plenty of vitamin D, sunshine. It is very necessary for healthy bones. He may need to take a vitamin D supplement.

Its a little unclear to me whether you mean he needs a bone marrow transplant or a liver transplant.

And it is very hard to be the caregiver. You have to be strong and calm for him which means you have to take care of yourself. Be sure you are staying healthy.
Try to keep both of your spirits up.

Good luck

I have heard of patients who were overly sensitive to the medications used in hepatitis C treatment.  Bone marrow sepsis is one of the things that require such careful monitoring and frequent bloodwork while using interferon.  I'm terribly sorry that this happened to your brother.  Those patients that I am familiar with who developed bone marrow sepsis spent several weeks in the hospital, sometimes in isolation, while their bone marrow returned to normal neutrophil production.  Try not to worry while your brother recovers.  It may be a slow process, but I believe that most patients do recover.
