I've commented on this before. I felt fine when my original Hepatologist said I needed Tx. Shrugged it off. After all, I felt fine-was running 2.5 miles every morning and working 12 hrs a day. Then I ran out of gas...took Tx-4yrs now since treatment. Went on to develop end stage-after Tx-un-likely candidate for transplant because I developed heart and lung problems in the last 4 years. I can't tell you what to do but if I had it all to do over again I would have treated when the Hepatologist said I should.
I wonder if I can get an insight from you experiencing tx.
I have been told to START NOW tx, however I am more than fine, I am in my best performance at 41 years of age, swimming a mile a day, working out, full time job + full time school! I have nothing to complain about my health but I have a gen 1A-B with fibrosis stage 2 Chronic and 1.500.000UI virus load; my blood exams always check out slightly above normal and sometimes even within limits.
My doctor want me to start tx with pegy-interferon and riba in Sept, after summer!
I hear that these medications will finish me BIG TIME! docs are looking for a income from profit in the medication? how true that is?
Please help whit some information.
Best regards and all the luck to everyone,
LCL
I had the worst hayfever every during tx (I had it occasionally in a minor way prior).
Using the 'saline rinse bottle' I got from the chemist was invaluable; I really think I would've ended up with sinisitus without it. I used a heap of antihistamine too. Tissues became a 'regular' on my Supermarket list.
I'm still trying to figure out what is causing my lips to break out. I look like I had collagen but they're also red and splotchy so it's not a good look. I've had a rough time being outside this year. Unfortunately, I may have developed new allergies instead of not having them.
Interesting thread. I hardly ever had allergies in the past but since being on tx and now after I find I am sneezing at the the oddest of things. Like chocolate, which is grossly unfair, as it made me nauseous during treatment and now after treatment it is making me sneeze. I love chocolate and couldn't wait to finish tx so that I could start eating it again, so unfair...
It was given to me for nasal dryness & block {lots of boogers} sorry dont mean to be gross
Love this forum! It's so good to know I'm not alone-of course not happy you and I developed these during and or after Tx-coincidence? Maybe, but I don't think so. There is always a trade in everything isn't there? No magic bullet. This nasal spray-does it help with all allergies or just with sinus? I can't take Benadryl for heart probs-causes A Fib.
you decribed my situation ,to a tee ! poison ivy this yr , cant stand smoke , grass s*cks. and I also got a one inch red streak from last blood draw . I could walk barefoot in ivy before tx .I was givin a nasal spray by doctor ,that works well .
i find a light over the counter cortizone cream is great for rashes...i had a rash start to break out under my nose a few days ago...its gone now.
Latex is a know allegen...its bad in hospitals where there are tons of rubber gloves...latex gives off a fine microscopic dust
I'm on Riba/Interferon and my nose iches just like the Riba Rash, I have to take claritin daily.
I was wondering where you went. I developed horrible allergies during and after Tx. Before Tx I was never allergic to poison oak, sumac or ivy-now just going near it I break out and my neighbor was burning some brush and I got a waft of the smoke and my face and hands were covered with blisters. I get sinusitis about every other month. If I walk barefoot across the lawn the bottoms of my feet burn and welp up! If I pick up a cardboard box and it touches the inside of my arms they welp up and itch like crazy. Maddening! Oh, I'm allergic to Latex now-latex tape-the latex band they put around the arm to draw blood. Never had this before Tx. Franke566
It must be the other two, or one of them or a combination of them all.
I didn't have any allergies this year either, and I was only on Peg and Riba.
Good to hear you are being spared bro'.
