Have you filed your taxes?

Hi friends.  Just thought I would pop in today and remind everyone that today is tax day.  For those of you who don't know me, I treated in 05/06 and was pretty active on the board then.  I am a tax accountant and worked throughout my 56 weeks of tx, including a tax season.  Some days I would not call myself very productive, but I was there.

So I know how easy it is to put this all off and forget about it.  If you can't get it filed today, you can get an automatic extension.  You can go to the IRS website and download the form and mail it today.  I am going to try to post the addres to get a form but not sure it will work.  If it doesn't, go  irs.gov and go to forms and publications and scroll down to 4868 and you can download it as a PDF file.

Most of you also know that this year you are going to get a free check in the mail for $300 or $600 but you have to file a tax return, even if you don't normally have to, to get the check.  You have to have $3000 of what they call countable income to get it.  Social Security counts and Social Security Disability income counts, but SSI - Supplemental Security Income doesn't towards that countable income.

So even if you can't get it together today, do file your retun later to get that check.  Here is a web address with links to free filing for the stimulus check, but I can't attest to how easy it is to navigate the sites.

Hope you are all hanging in there.  It will pass, you know, and life does get back to normal eventually.

Libby and Deb!  How are you gals?  I miss coming here.

Libby, what are your plans?  3/4 doesn't leave you with a lot of options.  Are you going to treat again anytime soon?  I am supposed to see the hepotologist in May but with my 1/1 I think I am just going to sit tight for awhile -- maybe until Telaprevir comes on the market.  I just don't know. I keep checking for studys but nothing in Dallas for responder/ relapsers.

Deb - proud of you, girl.  Got them all filed and not a minute too soon, I see.  I efiled mine a week ago. I really haven't done anything but work for the past few months.  During tx I took off Sundays during tax season.  I absolutely could have gotten thru it without doing that.  But this year was tough.  I think I have had one day off in the last 60 (until today, of course).  Good to see you still around helping people.  I will try to get on board a little mor often myself now.  15 months clear for you - how awesome!
