Hcv test clarifications please

Hello all, this is my story i was on a high risk possible exposure with a woman whom i did not know of her status.  The sex only lasted about 10 minutes and i used protection when i ejaculated i did noticed a little bit of blood inside the condomn which turned into panic mode for me.i was tested several times about 9 times to be exact through clinics, labcorp and quest, first test result of hep c at 8 days was 0.1 2nd test result of hep c at 6 weeks was 0.08 non reactive. 3rd test result for hep c at 14 weeks was 0.1. And last test result for hep c at 18 weeks was 0.12 non reactive. Now i understand they all mentioned negative but the only thing that comcerns me is the numbers change they go up everytime i tested. Was the last test a low positive because i was told that anything below the .8 mark is a negatibe and anything above that is a posotive so is my 0.12 result low antibody positive result?  Or does that mumber still falls on the negative side.

Since all the tests say negative, you do not have a problem - at least from Hep C.  You used protection. You need to either get on with life, or get treatment for stress and anxiety, from the sound of your posts.

Don't mean to be harsh but it sounds like you are OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) about this issue.

I am on depression and anxiety pills, but im still very scared about a possible infection not showing on my blood tests even though i have taken several std tests i have that fear of having contracted hep c through this high risk exposure.  I know a 12 weeks negative test result on any std is pretty much conclusive and i have been told the same about hep c that 8 to 9 weeks is the window period to show positive and now i been told to wait till 6 months to be safe so if i tested 0.12 non reactive at 18 weeks why do people need to wait till the 6th month mark to be and feel confident.

There are plenty of other things for you to worry about

Did you know that July was the hottest month Ever Recorded?

Go get a "HCV RNA PCR" test!   This tells if you have been infected with Hepatitis C.   You don't have to wait 6 months.   The values going up and down can be the results of everyday life.  Simply you had a cold, stressed,
ate something different etc etc etc.   If you had hepatitis C the values would be much higher.

You are negative.   If you just can't deal with it go get tested and put this all to rest.  "HCV RNA PCR is conclusive 3 weeks after exposure.

So is there a chance my negative test 0.12 at 18 weeks change in the coming months. I want to belive its negative but all that 6 month talk and to wait otherwise its useless to test before the 6 month mark its getting to me.

Go get a Hepatitis C RNA PCR test.  It will tell if you hepatitis C right now.  After that test the only way you will have hepatitis C (if you have no viral load)
is if someone with hepatitis C infects you.   You don't have to wait 6 months.
If your stressed and can't wait....go get tested.   Or wait till 6 months to confirm your negative results.

I have answered your question.

Just to add you have nothing to fear anyway. I am extremely doubtful you have hep c but even if you do have hep c there are new treatments simple as 1 pill a day for 8 weeks and the majority are cured.

So even on the tiniest of chance you did catch hep c get treated get cured.

NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

Yes that was my question and .12 is above the .8 so it is why i asked if it was a positive being above .8

Is it really? So in numerical value of hep c instead of going up it went down is that what you're saying?

.8 is the cut off, none of your test have been over a .2, not even close to the cut off

Follow the link and learn some math, I don't have time to explain it

.80>.12 read as .80 is greater than .12
