Treatment with NO insurance

My Dear Husband was diagnosed 3 years ago with HepC, had biopsy, with minimal damage, however, he has been advised to get treatment due to a situation with his probabtion officer- he is a recovering alcoholic.  We have been told Pegasus? can help because we have no health insurance.  Any advice, suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks,

You can get help with meds from both producers of interferon. You may also be eligible for charity care at private hospitals/universities but you'll have to check with ones in your area. Please do a search of this site as this topic has been covered here many times. You can also check www.hivandhepatitis.org
www.hcvadvocate.org or www.janis7hepc.com for more information.

Check at the pegasys site - awesome help - call them.

A lot of people have had assistance with them - and the other Brand name pegylated interferon alpha 2-a companies.

Good luck - and let us know how things progress.

Pegasys is Roche and their patient assistance program is based on your assets rather than your income. I do not use pegasys so I don't know the details.

Schering ( Intron ) is based on income. Here is their site. There is a link for the application there as well.
