Thought I should add my congratulations as well and I'm glad to hear you are recovering well. I'm a tad over 5 months post now myself, 6 month pcr coming up, but to be honest I don't think about it much. For me, treatment really seems a distant memory, perhaps it's just my attention span (lol). Considering I am now almost 2 years older than when I began tx, I feel as though I'm pretty well back to fighting strength.
Osteo is bothering me, but that is a different unrelated (imo) subject.
So agree, there is light at the end of the tunnel following tx.
pro ....cutting and splitting wood today, much easier this year compared to last year!!!...vbg and why am I cutting wood in August? my profile pic is from last year!
You won the battle - Congratulations!!!

I am SO happy for you! I can imagine you feal like you are really getting your life back now.
Thanks for your words mremeet - I think you are right about the emotional thing, treatment itself is quite a rollercoaster. I had to face up to a lot of emotions I normally don't really notice (crying at soppy movies and other things, that I am happy to say, no longer seem to happen now that I am returning to normal). The iratibility thing was the big bug-bear though that came out, and I realize a bit clearer now, how that seethes a little under the surface in normal day to day life.
As to my assailant, he almost had is thumb completely severed in the incident, although it was more his doing than mine (throwing hand through a window, I remember looking at it, and thinking "yes, this will be over soon). At one point police fired a shot (we had a bullet hole in our kitchen), and I remember being very angry at the police officer for missing, as I thought at the time that my only chance was to keep fighting (he calmed down after the shot though). It is an interesting thought as to what is happening to him. As someone with Hep C, doing drugs, and being in prision, I don't really think there is a lot of hope with respect to his health. But in saying that, if he cleans up somehow in there before coming out, I think everyone will be better off in the long run, including his family (he has 3 kids).
Great to hear!! Very happy for you Moa....a long journey, well done!
We haven't had a lot of these post lately as I've been checking in (unless I missed some)
Hopefully Rglass and I are right behind you. (My 24 weeks in August, his 12 in Aug.)....
and many more also!
Happy Hep free living to you, LL
Congratulations!!
I hope we all can boast the same good news as you!!

Hey congrats, it's a great feeling isn't it? Especially in your case, that had to be a hellish experience. The trauma of finding out you have HCV and all the blood, sweat and tears that goes into treatment is bad enough. Considering the situation that led to the whole ordeal, it's much harder to stomach. Hopefully you're emotionally taking care of yourself now that it's all finally over. One thing I've learned after SVR-ing, is that there's quite a bit of emotional residue left behind after the long infection and trauma associated with how some people got HCV in the first place. It turned out to be a much larger factor in my recovery than I had ever envisioned prior to SVR-ing. I guess my point is to make sure you attend to yourself emotionally as well as you did physiologically with your treatment. And it's too bad you weren't in "moa hunting mode" when the home invasion took place. Sucker would have gotten what he really deserved instead of a piddly 9 years. Best of luck...
Way to slay the dragon! Go celebrate (in a healthy way, though)! I am very happy for you.

Congratulations to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am getting a little nervous myself about going for my 3 mos post tx lab. Hope to report good news to all. I agree that it was very helpful during tx to hear the good news UND and SVR reports as they come in!
Enjoy SVR land!!!

" Thanks I-horn. I had my first beer in 2 years on Monday. It was nice (although not as good as I remember - funny that). My nurse tells me, the general rule of thumb is keeping it to 1 drink a day.."
-------
How big are these nurses thumbs ? I go in for my 1 year on the 3rd and I've pretty much paid no mind to any rules of thumb although I don't drink anywhere near what I did before I don't really pay it any mind. If I go out with friends or to a game if I want a beer I drink it. If I want 10 beers I drink them. Alcohol doesn't cause HCV. End of story.
Great news!!! Congrats!!

The hunter is successful and brings home the biggest prize of all, SVR! Your feeling of accomplishment is well-deserved. (I always sorta wondered what kind of animal a 'moa' was... and just substituted the 'moa' with 'hcv' in my own mind!) Your beast has been vanquished!
My most heartfelt congratulations. Thanks so much for sharing the good news!
All my best,
