I found that I have gotten stiffer/tight ms and achy jts. partly because I am lying down and resting more. I too have the RA factor Dx 1 year before starting TX so I know  I get stiff/sore when I don't move as much. It does feel a little worse now from all my rest.

You should check with your doctor to be sure what is going on.  Although it COULD be hep related - something like that might be something completely separate and require a good chiropractor or physical therapy to heal it.

It's too easy to blame everything on the hep and then not have it checked out.

Better to be safer than sorrier.

Just found this site a couple of days ago. I too am relieved to know my symptoms are right on the nose..burning sensation in my legs, relentlessss back pains, even in my ribs. At this point, my face looks like someone threw hot water on it. Face and neck numb..lost sensation in my toes, About to start procrit. Two weekss ago, I had to get a transfusion. I follow my program, get blood tests every week, drink lots of water. My biggest burden is I am not able to articulate like I could befor. I feel stupid, for lack of a better word. I can't follow through on even the smallest of tasks...I forget what I'm doing. So confused. Recently diagnosed with RA, seeing a pain management Doc. Will be taking 14/48 pegintron friday. Take 800 mg. of ribavirin daily.

I so agree with you guys. I have had masses of weird things happening, and after reading symptoms of HCV, I said AHAAA, that's why I have been feeling this and the other. But I also think it is important not to blame everything on HCV, as one could be having something serious. So one should always check the other possibilities, too.

As an example, I thought I was in menopause/pre-menopause, since I was 41. Isn't that a bit early??? Well, could have been... It happens to some... I only found out through all the tests, that I wasn't... So now I know, that this one is to blame on HCV.

But it could be the other way around, so better safe than sorry, you know what I mean?

Marcia - Scatch and all...

You know I thought I was going crazy after all other tests (besides Hep Panels) were run and came back negative.

I thought I was dying - they looked into EVERYTHING... And couldnt' find anything.

I even went to a psychologist --- who advised other than being ADHD, he really couldn't find anything wrong with me... That I was fairly normal... (ha ha ha what he didn't know... LOL!)

Anyhow --- a smart PA... (physician's aid --- it's a person who has done most of the same schooling a doctor MD has done - but just isn't an MD... needs 4 more years of schooling...) She noticed my ALTs and ASTs started getting elevated around 2000 - 2002. She had only been at the Doctor's office that I visit for about 8 months.

She ordered a routine hep panel --- knowing I had been HEP A, B, C free in 1992/3, and knew where I worked...

So when it came back as pos - she set me on the right path.

It was very interesting to learn that I had HCV --- In a way it was almost a relief.

All those years of odd pains, feeling fatigued, etc. Thinking that it was in my head - or just getting old (AT 40??? No freaking way... you're just NOT supposed to feel like that)

So yeah - HCV can cause back pains --- joint pains... muscle pains, fatigue and a lot more.

I think HCV can pretty much be pinpointed to all of my physical probs... And in a way - I'm so very glad I can put a finger to it --- instead of being in the dark.

BUT ---- with that said ---- NOT everything is HCV caused... So every new, urgent symptom should be looked at, in my opinion... LOL!

Hugs to all.

I have began to think that theres a lot more to this HCV diseas then most people think.
More and more evidence is starting to appear, that this so called nonsymptomatic variant isn`t  quit that non symptomatic after all.
What  many of us thought was due to old age. childbirths, other diseases isn´t  for some of us anymore, after getting well from HCV or as in my case only after the  liver  has been giving a rest.

If you who read this have a testimony about long term sicknes that has gone away or been remarkable improved please don´t hesitate to share because its very encourating to here such testimonies And the good God shall know many of us need that,  to be able start tx, restart or continue one already started.

ps I know zazza have something to shair about a hip pain that seem to have improved a lot unless it wasn`t just "hypochondriac" ( privat joke )

Thank you. Learning something new every day. You guys are giving me hope... Maybe my back and shoulder pains are going to be gone after tx. I also have leg cramps, those I do blame on hcv. I had always associated those pains to having had so many kids.

I also had chronic neck and shoulder pain.  12 weeks after TX it is much and not really any shoulder pain.

It can very well be!
I´ve been having back pains cronical for 20years at least.

I do have a discinjuria so I always have thought it was because of that.

After reading some posts here about people not noing about their HCV condition, but going to the doctor because of lower back prolem, burning sensations in legs and feet, joint pain, general stiffnes etc and they found out they had HCV.

I´ve began to think maybe its more to my back problems (yeas i had some of the other sypthoms aswell) then first thought.

The most overwhelming evidens that this is HCV related in my case, is that after tx it all went much much better check it up man .

Not everything can be blamed on hep c, I think you should talk to your physician about back pains.
