good news on thyroid

Had the radioactive pill on Mon and scan on Tues. Have been off thyroid pill a month for this test. Everything is good. Working Dog I know you were concerned for the choking feeling you were having so this is good news as I was having that as well. I forget who posted about gerd but doc seems to think that that is what it is. So now on zantac for a few weeks. Sooo very happy that it wasn't something else, also the swollen node may be due to overmedication of the thyroid med, so hoping that another month off of the drug and another blood test will show maybe that I won't have to take thyroid meds anymore (hopefully). This was all due to tx so a little info for anyone else presenting with a choking sensation in the throat, but get it checked anyway, and as I had smoked for over 30 years I was also worried about the voice box deal, the smoking commercials are killing me. Have not had a cigarette now for 13 months whoo hoo. Thanks all for good thoughts and prayers on to SVR!!!

Hi very happy to hear that all is well.  I was having problems as well.  I see the doc on Wed to check it out.  Hope it is not my thyroid though I do continue to lose hair

I am so glad to hear this! They have such good imaging machines now that they can see things they couldn't before so nodules on something can really give someone a bad scare. I am glad yours came out great.

On a side note I too, have acid reflux and take aciphex. I had it before treatment though. Aciphex is pricey but the manufacturer has a rebate that keeps it down to about $25.00 a month. I sometimes feel like stuff is trying to sit in my throat and some foods are worse than others. I have a big deal with bran cereal now that I didn't have before treatment but I honestly am ok with that. Being free of hep c is awesome. When I had this feeling of stuff in my throat it was after eating like it would rise back up. Really painful at times. Keep us posted Screaming48!

this is good news......i just saw the doctor today...a real good throat and ear guy.....he scheduled an endoscopy for monday.. i think its acid reflux?....a week ago my doctor up here prescribed omeprazole for it...she said it sounded like acid reflux..that i may have scare tissue....i will say before tx i had some trouble swallowing  had to have the heimlich maneuver twice before tx...  never really found out why...then during tx i was ofter having trouble...my swallowing process was backwards....sometimes down sometimes up...before tx i talked with my twin sister about trouble swallowing..she said she had acid reflux and after going to all kinds of docs she ended up taking a product called i flora....a probiotic made to survive stomach acid...she said it took her 5 days to beat her acid reflux...i never tried them...guess i should...anyway this new prescription "omeprazole" 20 mg is really working...i've been much better since starting that....billy
