interferon symptoms

I take my inj on thurs afternoon and my worst day by far is sunday. I dont know if it's because Sunday afternoon is kind of a downer for me or what but, it seems like having the worst symptoms 3 days after inj. is a long time.

Hiya!
When was your start date? When I went through tx, I did my Pegsys injections on Sunday night (I was fortunate I was able to take a hiatus from work) and by Tuesday the fatigue, aches and chills whacked me...By Friday evening I'd start feeling a little better again with a tiny amount of energy to do something (housework, fix my family a meal, etc) and then Sunday would come again...the fatigue worsened the further I got into the treatment, but I was RVR at week #4...this sounds crazy to some, but by the 8th week, I could feel the Hep C was gone..It felt like a weight had been removed...Too bad the fatigue and anemia stayed!
Well, it was a long haul and some weeks were handled by the day or the hour, -but I made it! I am 1 year post tx, and still SVR -and I feel really great! My liver is happy with an ALT of 14, and an AST of 15 and I have loads of energy, no insomnia or aches, no brain fog or rashes, and am getting back into shape...Hang in there! Here's some treatment "survival tips" that worked for me...for chills..An electric blankie or one just out of the dryer...For itchies..Aveeno afterbath and body oil (when drying pat off the water, don't rub, and use warm, not hot water to bath in)..for hair...any good moisturizing shampoo and add a leave-in moisturizer afterwards...for dry mouth/ leather tongue at night...mouth moisturizing gel by Oragel...tastes okay, and lasts all night...if you get mouth sores (VERY painful!) there is a prescription mouthwash called "magic mouthwash"..It has lidocaine, Maalox, some sort of antithrush medication, and something else that is very soothing...) Something else that helped my hemolytic anemia was folic acid 800 mcg/day...it provides the building blocks for the red blood cells...Be aware that the Peg can cause thyroiditis which has similar symptems to the anemia...But if your resting heartrate is 100 beats per min or more, have your thyroid checked ASAP! A ticked off thyroid can cause the anemia to accelerate and can cause your blood pressure and heart rate to get too high, causing a stroke or heart attack...(The voice of experience here!) Hmm...Oh, perhaps also a sign for your door for the irritable days..."Enter at your own risk!"..LOL Take care! Remember, every day you do this is one day closer to being done! I take mine on Friday and Sunday & Mon morn are the worst.  Someone did a poll awhile back on this but I can't seem to find it.

Sounds like mine too, except on different days. Tuesday was shot day and the ordeal would usually start Thursday Friday and go on until Monday. Sounds like you are on Pegasys from Roche.

Seems like you are on my schedule.  The Thursday/Sundany plan.  Justme is right about the schedule tweaking....but in the end-it's worth it.

Good luck to you.

Believe it or not it's not uncommon for that to happen. AT least though you know when it is so you can schedule your life around it - that's something!

I take my shot on Friday evening and my worst days are from late Sunday to late Tuesday, so I have to struggle a bit with those first workdays, but most of the time, my weekends are pretty good. I'm happy for the switch because I get to have enough energy to socialize on the most weekends. It's a coin toss for most of us as to if and when we get sx from treatment. Schedules seem to undergo tweaking as we go along.

I had the same thing ....However my only decent day was Thursday day before shot day.....SOmetimes I would get lucky and have two days in a row!

Cant really try to figure it out....I thought by taking my shot on Friday  I would be on prettty much steady ground by Monday-turned out not to be the case with me.

Wish you the best. Just take it day by day...and TRY to grin and bear it.
I know how difficult tx is! BLEAH!!

Good Wishes
