how about if we all got wiggs when they send our meds ,
I saw my hairdresser today too (go to her house as well) and she worked a minor miracle with a great cut that looks like I grew hair overnight. She was very concerned when she looked at my scalp - so much inflammation -but I already had an appointment with the dermatologist for later. I was given a shot of steroids once he cleared it with my study doc. It feels better but hoping it is better yet tomorrow.
Those fires are very scary - stay safe.
just came back from my hair gal today, I go to her house (cheaper) and she performed miracles. I got a few high / low lights and I look half way decent. I hope to get some work when I come back from the hot springs. We have a lot of fires here, its pretty scary.
I hope everyone is doing well.

yes its interesting how everything changes, I think I'm going to go punk.. I'll see what my hair gal has to say, she's pretty conservative so I trust her.
I am so tired and breathless these days, but only 3 weeks to go and most of those weeks I'm able to pace myself. thank goodness for small favors.
sorry bout the itch, I cant imagine. I had hives once on the bottoms of my feet and I wanted to scrape the bottoms off, like that?
hang in.
00000 Mary
currently joining you with the hair hanging in by a thread - hit me about 12 weeks too. Will probably wig shop soon but can't imagine putting a wig on this itchy scalp. It's funny how my priorities have changed the further I get into treatment.
and cakes I hope you have the best results...... second time, very admirable.
I lost my hair during my first treatment, it grows back, its exciting.
I invested in a cute wig ($90 on line) and some adorable hats from Target. Now on my 2nd time around treating and I am less concerned with hair loss, more concerned with succeeding and a good end result.
Think the Pharms company would give us wiggs , are even some med shampoo ! It's not like they don't make any thing on the meds are tx .
I KNOW YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT THE HAIR LOSS AS AM I,.....IT MAY NOT BE AS BAD AS YOU THINK ...I ALSO, AM ABOUT TO BEGIN TX AND AM WORRIED ABOUT ALL OF IT....THINK POSITIVE AND KEEP YOURSELF HEALTHY...LOTS OF WATER AJ
Yeah, I'm gonna see my hair magician and have her make me look a little spikey or pixie w/ some highlights cuz the gray just looks dull and I just found out I may be getting some work this summer at a swanky resort doing facials so....... got to look presentable. I"m looking forward to the day when I can just let the hair grow again and tie it back like I did for umpteen years.
Right now I'm using a product that is supposed to fortify the hair..... I get it at target and its a decent price. I've used the real expensive stuff and now I just cant bring myself to do it. As a young hippie I used to use the all natural w/ rosemary from the health food store.
Now I just run it by my hair person...
I didn't start losing any hair until 12 weeks into the treatment so Debra, you have a little time. I have thick, wavy and lots of hair and its thinned out pretty good, I would say half of what I had.
I think everyone may be different,
ask you hair person what they think. Good Luck on Tx.
Nioxin I heard is good for the hair, try sally beauty supply and virgin coconut oil I also heard is good. I am just going to go super short with a cute pixie which in Texas is good in the heat, but cold in winter lol just grew mine out this spring and is just below my ears now and then found out I had hep c so going back short, :)
mine has started to return with less gray and i just passed 3 mos. hang in there buddy. hair product helped mine look more full. it is hard to feel like poop and know u like it too. i know what u mean. baseball caps may help if u wear such things. good luck, babs
I'm very concerned about the Hair loss and how much. Is there a specfic shampoo that should be used? I have long hair now. Should I cut it short to get ready before treatment starts? All suggestions are welcome, please
I cant imagine anything on these drugs for 72 weeks. So I know I would be totally bald and bouncing off the wall.
I will look forward to new hair growth and all the good things that resulted from this treatment.
thanks,
I lost quite a bit of hair while on tx, but a year and a half later and its pretty much all come back. Its thick and wavy just like before. Of course the grey came back too.
I lost 85% of my hair during my 55 weeks of tx. The worst was the inch of crust in my head thruout tx and the severe itching. ( The doctors have a name for it I forgot ) All my hair grew back within a year the only problem was it all grew in so straight..my wave was gone.
With all the other issues of tx that was the last of my problems. My liver was my number one concern.
Look forward to your new hair growth.
good luck

Imagine what your hair would look like after 72 weeks like mine did.
The good news is it grows back just fine.
