good idea; luggage! wonder if i can make some lovely shoes and a purse to match. yes the sx vary between people and change every few weeks it seems. one week its the nausea then the headaches then the itches. to me the fatigue and itching were the worst part. it is wonderful to look in the rear view mirror to see the carcass. best to all those who still suffer and those who are recovering, best, babs824
Don't be overwhelmed by all the negative sx, since you might not have any for a while. Like Charm, the first 3-4 weeks were a breeze and I kept thinking, it really can't be this easy. Then the riba started kicking in, but so far very manageable.
It's hard to separate what is causing the sx, but you might experience a bit less tolerance and get angry a little easier, a very common sx of trt. As long as those close to you understand and give you some support, it will help greatly.
Best of luck and welcome to the forum. There are some wonderful people here to help.
Whoo Hoo! First shot party at Bella's house! I bequeath you the use of my lucky Hep C dragon-slaying sword and emit a Howard Dean girlie scream in your honor! YYYEEEAAAGGGHHH!!!!
You have just taken the first step of many! Treatment affects everyone different. Some have few sides at all, and some are flattened by it. For the first six weeks (of 24) I'd get the chills and aches for the first 36 hours, and then I'd just feel tired -like I was fighting a bug. By day five I'd feel pretty good. My best weapons were doing my shot just before I went to bed and taking tylenol which helped me sleep, my electric blanket to ward off chills, and my mouth moisturizing gel (Oragel) to fend off leather tongue at night. When the itchies came, benedryl chlorophineramine (clor-con), and Aveeno after bath body oil worked well. -And of course, water, iced tea, etc.
Keep in mind you may have to slow your pace a bit if your energy begins to peter out. -I think this was the hardest part for me! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! ~MM
P.S. By week #4 I felt different -lighter somehow. I discovered the hep C was UND at that point -and it stayed that way! My dragon is dead and I have made luggage out of it!
It's different for everyone. Five hours after my first shot, I felt absolutely terrible !
Days without sx are blessings!
Good luck on starting tx. Is this the first time treating? What are your stats and which trial did you start. I did 55 weeks of SOC and didnt start to feel the sx until week 5-6. I didnt have any sx from first shot. It was a very long road with lots of bumps in the way, however that is what tx is all about. Rest when your tired, drink lots of water, stay hydrated. Hoping your sx are minimal.
I had a tough time during tx didnt think the end of tx would ever come. Took me 6 months to feel some what grounded again and well.
We are all here to guide you thru.
good luck
