You can contact my clinic and arrange a consultation and they can help you get a western blot, yes.
Terri
Terri,
Would you be willing to provide an order for me to take the western blot?
Last question and I'll let you get back to your Sunday. I've never actually had classical genital herpes symptoms but tested positive 2 years ago for both HSV 1 and HSV 2 Herpeselect. HSV 1 was over 5.0 no surprise I've had cold sores in the past HSV 2 was 2.1 and like I said no classical symptoms. I didn't realize that it could be a false positive and I figured I was just someone who doesn't have genital symptoms. Now I'm not so sure. I know what cold sores look and feel like and it is not like anything else. Is this simillar for genital herpes...where you know if when you see/feel it? Also, should I retest to see what's / what's or do you think I'm just someone who doesn't show symptoms but probably positive given my test results. When I tested it was at least a few months from any sexual exposure. Thanks
Herpes on the buttocks normally takes a couple of weeks to heal and is generally grouped blisters on a red base.
I think the risk is very low because they things that you describe on the buttocks don't sound anything like herpes to me AND the mode of transmission.
Terri
Thanks Terri no worries on the slow response. Just curious for future how can I easily tell herpes from butt pimples? What I have is generally red and scattered. Come and go quickly and often. A little sensitive like a pimple would be. Also, just curious is this as close to zero risk because you don't think they're herpes or because of the mode of transportation?
I'm so sorry not to have seen this post a few days ago, not sure where it was but here I am now to answer your question.
People who have OCD tendencies or a diagnosis have more trouble with genital herpes than others and it is predictable that this would be a challenge for you
Having said all of that, I think the chances that you transmitted herpes to your son via the situation that you describe is as close to Zero as one can possibly get. As you said, it is more likely that anything you are experiencing on your buttocks is a pimple, as I think, given your situation, your would be hyperaware of any herpes lesions on the buttocks.
Your son is just fine and will continue to be so. Please put your mind at rest.
Terri
