I am a man, 26 years old, and am pretty sure I have HSV1 because I used to get a couple of cold sores every year since I was like 10 years old (not so much in the past 5 years). What are the chances that I could get genital herpes, HSV1 or HSV2, from receiving unprotected oral sex from a women? From what I have read, it seems that HSV1 would be highly unlikely because I have antibodies already, and it seems that HSV2 is hardly ever transmitted in this fashion. Is this a fair assessment? Please add some more color to this for me?

Thanks.

The chances of you getting HSV 2 from receiving oral sex is incredibly low!  HSV 2 can be acquired in the mouth, but if it is acquired there, it rarely recurs and is only shed from the mouth on 1% of days of the year, that's three days out of the year, on average.  And since you already have HSV 1 orally, it is very unlikely that you would get this genitally.  I would say that your contact was really quite safe in terms of herpes, actually.
  Does that help?

Yes you can contract this virus from him which is incurable if u already haven't some women won't even know they have contracted it because signs may appear o the cervix and inside the vagina if I were you I would get myself checked out

I'm a 23 year old female and my boyfriend has Herpes pharyngitis.  How is this transmitted? Can he pass it on to me through oral sex?  Can I get it from him through kissing?
