Oral HSV II

Hi,
I am 20 years old male.

About six months ago I had unprotected oral sex, with new female partner, and while condom was used for genital sex, there was a brief sexual contact without protection.
About week later, blister developed on my lower lip and I also had sore throat that gradually progressed to unbearable. My partner denied having any STDs and due to the extensively sore throat, I self-diagnosed the illness as crank sore. Upon visiting doctor, I have been successfully treated for throat infection.

Two weeks ago, small single non-harmful looking blister developed on my lower lip, again with throat pain, and I got blood tested for HSV I and II with following results:

HSV-1 aB IgG    <0.90           negative
HSV-2 aB IgG     6.46 H         positive

Seems like I have won the oral HSV II lottery.
This time, the small sore disappeared within days, possibly through prompt topical and L-Lysine treatment or because of built up antibodies. The throat pain, while diminishing, remains.

Is it possible that I might also have genital HSV II with no prior symptoms and is there way to be tested if no symptoms develop?

Because of supposed very low HSV II asymptomatic oral shedding, should I be concerned about transmitting oral HSV II to new partners through kissing or oral sex, when no symptoms are present?

If yes, what are the chances of transmission?

First, I would confirm that what you are having is actually HSV 2 on your mouth.  The next time you get any oral symptoms similar to the ones you've had in the past, get a PCR swab with typing done immediately.

Ninety five percent of people who test antibody positive for HSV 2 shed virus genitally so I'm not sure how to answer your question about whether or not you could have this genitally.  It seems unlikely to me, given everything you've said, but it is impossible?  No.

Again, the first step would be to determine that this is or is not HSV 2 orally.

I was giver of oral sex. Genital sex was 90% with condom. That was six months ago and since then I had blister in the same spot on my lower lip twice, both times accompanied by sore throat. The second time the symptoms resolved much quicker.
No genital outbreaks.

Is it safe to assume the Hsv II is limited to oral area, since there's no way to test on genitals without OBs?

It is possible that you have oral HSV 2, yes.
You said you had oral sex, were you the giver or the receiver of oral sex?  If you were not the giver of oral sex, your mouth was not at risk.  Can you clarify please?
