It is not correct that anything between 1.1 and 3.5 is a false positive. It is correct that some people who test and have an index value of between 1.1 and 3.5, have a false positive - about 50% are actually false positives. The closer the index value is to 1.1, the more likely it is to be a false positive. Since your index value is very close to 1.1, I would strongly recommend that you get a herpes western blot to confirm or deny this positive result. The Quest lab code for this test is 34534. You can try to get this done through your regular provider. If for some reason you can't get this done through them, we can help you get it done through our clinic.
Don't panic. Just follow the appropriate steps for confirmation and let's see what happens.

Hello, yes anything between 1.1 and 3.5 is considered a false positive. I also had a low positive and I plan on getting the Western Blot, as soon as I figure out how to get it ordered.
