Thanks for all the responses.
I have a front loading machine. Do any of you have one of these? You can't use the same kind of detergent as a top loader, without causing problems....
I add the clear no dye dish soap for my boys (hubs and son) who could get a grease stain on their clothes if they lived in a bubble. It helps release the grease stains with out a pre-treat. If it was just us girls the regular recipe would do.
I make it all the time minus dish soap. Great for allergies and last for a moth or so. Very cost effective, only thing is you do not have the smell you get with Gain or things like that .
Thats me I have to buy the' free and clear' I break out in dermographism ...if I use regular detergent ,I am going to try this ...
I have in the past- recipe similiar to the one posted by sunshine, minus the dish soap. For our family it was the best soap I have ever used! This is also wonderful for people that are sensitive to the many additives in commercial soaps.
Yes I use it.
1 cup ivory bar soap or Zote, grated
One cup Borax
One cup Washing Soda
(I add a couple squeezes (not too much of Dawn dish soap)
Mix in the food processor.
Use about 2-3 tablespoons for a large load.
no I havent I have heard ion a preparedness site I go to, that baking soda will clean almost anything and should be added to the list of foods and products we will need to have if there are many shortages that has been told to us .
