A profile glitch that erases "about me" and swaps gender to "male"

Anyone get the same glitch when occasionally clicking their photo, and then editing their profile?  I got it last night right before medhelp started adding features... That meant having to leave my profile that way for the night.

I wanted to add a tag. When I hit save, not only did the tag not get added, but everything else in that profile area went too including the photo. What's odd is it doesn't seem to happen every time. Just certain times?

Hi there -

While you are viewing your profile, you can click the "Edit" at the top of the "About Me" box/widget.  This will bring up a screen with your basic info on it, and you can edit it there.  Be sure to click Save at the bottom right when you are finished editing.

To see all your posts, just under About Me on your profile, you will see the Posts box/widget.  You will find your 3 most recent posts there, and when you have more than 3, you can click on "See All" to find all your posts.

I know you are anxious for answers, but it can take some time for our experts to answer.  Please don't hesitate to post in our member forums - we have some really knowledgeable members.  Our forum list is here - http://www.medhelp.org/forums/list  Our Member Communities are on the left, and are all free, and our Expert forums are on the right.  Some of those have a small fee associated with them.

Hope that helps,

I was beginning to think along the lines because it only happened right before they updated, which would make sense. I guess the server goes off right before they put up the "we are adding new features" page.

There have been several occurrences of this, and the strong suspicion is that it happens when someone is editing their profile during a time when the medhelp application servers become unavailable.

So it is unlikely you would be able to replicate during normal business hours, as that is when the servers are the most stable.

If it ever happens to you again, do not make any changes to your profile, leave it in "blank" state. Contact medhelp and tell them exactly what happened. They'll email you back and tell you when its okay to change it, or if possible they'll restore it to what it was before.

You're welcome. You can see my journal entry.

The first shot in the included picture was right after I added a comment to my profile right after it glitched. I didn't realize I was "male" until after I looked up...but couldn't do anything until the next morning. The shot underneith is after I fixed my profile. The hover window seems to take longer to update.

To other people, does it only occur when adding interest tags, or does it happen any time in the editing process?  This I'm really wondering about. Maybe later I can poke at this and see how often that occurs.

Just as a saftey measure I saved my "about me" as word document so I can retrieve it if it happnens again.
