Disscociative disorder that I don't explai it to people except those very close to me. My therapist has had me make a check list of what I need to do when it happens. I keep it in my car and one in my purse. I actually was bringing my son home from a soccer game when I realized I had spaced out. The difference in just spacing out and disscociating is I suddenly had no idea how to get home and didn't even know who I was for a few minutes. Realizing this I pulled into the next street (far from home). I heard a voice telling me I was going the wrong way and realized my son was in the car with me. He told me how to get home.I have many more incidents of this happening. For me, my eyesight changes and every thing looks kind of funny.
A depersonalization/derealization group would be ideal for a User Group. These are groups that are created by, maintained and moderated by our users. If one of you would like to start this group, there is more information here on how to create groups:
http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/MedHelp/MedHelp---Groups/show/1021?cid=88
You can choose to make this group public or private and you can then invite the others to join you in this group.
