Can someone Please help?

I've seen this question posted before, but remember where I saw it.  The poster is asking about the calories over budget and why the number keeps going up.

Thanks for whatever help you can give.

Thank you for the explanation.  Next time someone asks about it, I'll be able to tell them.

Hi Barb,

You are making sense, but the calorie budget doesn't factor in exercise, so when you do exercise, it will increase the budget in order for your body to sustain that level of energy burning.

The app is saying that if you only follow the allotted calorie budget, you should lose weight. If you exercise, you need more calories to sustain that activity.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.  I know there's been some confusion over this.

It seems that the app might not be set up right.  If one has a calorie budget and we exercise, our budget shouldn't go up, because we're trying to burn fat, not eat more food...

For instance, if my needed calories is 1500/day and I want to lose weight, I have to either decrease my calorie intake or increase my exercise. Exercise should not increase my calorie allotment, because if I eat more, I've defeated the purpose of exercising.

If one is to maintain weight, then calorie allotment should rise with exercise, but if one wants to lose weight, calorie allotment should not rise with exercise.

Am I making sense?
