ketotic hypoglycemia

My wife and i just found out that our son of only 22 months now has ketotic hypoglycemia, but when we go to test he blood levels after he wakes up are normal but when we test him after he eats its lower then it should be. what is the reason for this happening? we make sure the foods he eats are right but his blood level goes down. we help some help to understand what is happening. thank you for time in reading my problem.
