what are your motives for having this website?

i think its ridiculous that you would place a pop up banner add directly in front of information to save someones life. weather its rehab or medicine when people come to this site they are usually at their last straw and what could be  more pleasant to  find in their desperation, a god damn pop up so you can make a buck AND dont tell me that not what its about because i have four sites of my own.

opus88 - I have the same experience as you.  Ads can be targeted for specific regions or specific purposes, so not all users will experience the same ads.  I think that's why some have them and others don't.

Lira....I have to add something to this, I don't know whats different about my system or what I run(?) but I NEVER get any of the pop ups that others are complaining about. and believe me thats ok with me. but if I knew why than it could help the members who ARE getting all this junk...all I see ever are the few adds running on the side such as right now the hairmax add and one for a laptop, none of which are popping up covering my screen....

im gonna "copy and paste" my response to admin here because i think its the best way for me to communicate my feelings.                 im sorry, ive been busting my *** working on my own websites but i will write a response tonight and i will apologize to all staff there because i was wrong. you guys are nice a without a doubt about people. your reaction made that loud and clear. it was me who searched for a subject that i had avoided for so long and when i finally had the **** to look it up, a pop up stopped me from seeing it at first. its my issue not yours. if its ok with you i would like to put a link on my site to advertise your site because i really do now think a lot of you and thats the ones we should really post banners for. you cant put my banner on your site though because it would be the wrong thing for your site. youll understand when you see it. give me the ok and ill put a banner up for you and im sorry. until tonight, http://****/vc/     http://www.****.com/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=A583UP7G0PGGM

I wish it would be a legal requirement for them to pay for our migraine meds for all the migraines they cause.

The scrolling in ads is a legal requirement imposed by the FDA on pharmaceutical companies that advertise online. I'm sure the Exelon Patch advertisers would like to leave out these long disclaimers as much as you'd like to not see them, but unfortunately, this is how advertising works in the pharmaceutical industry.

Furballsmom -

I have the ad on the side of my screen now, and it scrolled for about 30 seconds.  Is that how it is for you?

I'm sorry if I implied that all ads appeared because of searches you've done.  Some are, and some we have placed.  I also have an ad for Zappos that is showing a pair of shoes I've been wanting for awhile.  That one we obviously didn't place.

It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll.  There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too.  They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines.  Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off.  Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.

Hi there -

Thanks for your feedback.  With ads, some are generated by different ad programs, and not by us.  This is why you will see shoe ads after looking for a pair of shoes on Zappos, or toys after looking for toys at Toys R Us.

If you have some specific issues with some of the ads, please let us know.

I can't speak for the initial person here. I can say there are a lot of ads per page. I can't tolerate the flashing ones. There aren't any flashing ones today. It aggrivates my migraines to have the flashing ones. I haven't seen pop ups lately. But when they do come up they are hard to close or get right in the way of what you are trying to write. I don't think kids clothing ads are appropriate on there like Zazzle, or Essentialapparel.com. At least if you have to advertise (and I would much rather have ads than no Medhelp) it would be better to have related ads such as for prescriptions or pain meds, even erectile dysfunction (LOL as I am a woman and don't have that problem). Maybe instead of having the ads on the sites next to where people are trying to write to help a person or get help have them at the top of the page or before the forum page or something else. I don't read any of the ads though myself I am here to help people mostly but have received a lot too. Regarding the angry first person, I was trying to calm that person down by referring them to tech support because it was inappropriate when it was on the general help site.
thanks,

Hi,

I'm sorry you're having problems with them.  Can you let us know specifically which ads are interfering by doing this?  This way we can forward the exact information to our technical department and they can evaluate the specific situation.

I sort of think it is funny that they think we are going to read those pop ups or flashing ads. I really don't think the marketing department is thinking.

HI and I agree I hate them too. You might want to write to tech support. It is located at the bottom of your home page.
