Lung scarring

Is it possible that lung scarring can be caused by varicella pneumonia? I have had x rays, CT scan, bronchoscopy and no-one has yet been able to teel me the cause of the scarring. I have had x rays many years apart and the scar tissue still exists. I am not ill, have no symptoms yet radiologists suopect PTB, Tuberculosis or lung adenopathy. They even insisted on cortisone treatment fro oesinophilic pneumonia (despite the fact that I display NO symptoms at all)
This is very frustrating as no anwer has been provided and I may have to undergo further tests to prove that I am NOT ill.
Thank you in advance

Dr Wilson,

A friend has the same condition, for 25 years now. All else is ok exept the x ray image which show pulmonary nodules due to healed TB, some of which are calcified. Is there a way to have them removed. Some claims are being made on Serrapeptase and Longidaza.

The fact that you have few or no symptoms is great.  Anatomic "scarring" in the lung truly has many potential causes.  It is possible that a past history of certain types of pneumonia can leave behind scarring.  This is especially true viruses..including varicella.  Having said that, the exact diagnosis usually requires several of the tests you have had performed.  Proving your relative health would best be accomplished with pulmonary function tests.  If these are normal or close to normal, the chance that your scarring is significant is fairly minimal.  The answer to the cause of your scarring is a complex one which requires results of all of your above tests in greater detail.
