Constand dull headache

Hi,
I have had a constant headache for about 17 years. It is just a constand dull pressure around my eyes (at times feels like something trying to push my eyes out), forehead, temples and sometimes gets much worse and cause a horrid pain at the base of my skull. For years I had migraines, but these dont happen very often anymore. I have seen a chiropractor and this did not help, i have changed jobs and houses so it is not environmental. I am tired of taking neurofen every morning just to get through the day. Is there any other treatment for this? any better painkillers? or somthing I can try to make it go away, or is this it and I just have to live with it? Any advise would be very much appreciated cause I am tired of feeling this way and having husband say i always have a headache and pop pills like candy (his interpretation of 2 pills each morning).

I have been in your boat since I was a kid - its an every day battle. I have had the scans done, found nothing. But every day-headaches. Behind the eyes, temples and sometimes base of the neck.
I take panadol every day, which isn't great but, its either that or I cant manage the pain. It sucks.
But I have found a few things that have helped me, may help you?

1) There is a tendon/muscle that runs up the neck and connects around the eye. If these are strained/tight whatever, you will have constant headaches. Try accupuncture and physiotherapy. Even just a few times - cant hurt, right?

2) Diet - I have cut out caffeine, and that has helped. Apparently cheese and chocolate can make hedaches worse.

3) I find cold packs pressed to my eyes and forehead help me a lot.

4) Buy a NETI pot online or in a health shop... its like a teapot, but its for flushing out your sinus. Sounds weird but you'd be amazed. Your noses mucus can build in a pouch above the nose and put pressure on the eyes causing headaches. This helped my friend. :)

I havent been to an ophthalmologist, but do wear glasses which I have tested every year. I also havent had a baseline CT done, (please excuse my ignorance) what would that me tell?  I am not sure of the process for finding out why and how so thankyou very much for your response.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

I do understand how hard this is for you. This constant dull headache may be tension headaches, a sinus headache or an arthritic pain. Other causes may include eye problems. Have you consulted with an ophthalmologist to have your eyes assessed?

This has been  present for years , was a baseline CT scan done?
