Head hurts! :(

I'm 21 years old and I have been experiencing sharp pain on the right side of my head. It's not constant throughout the day but does last for a few hours here and there. I didn't notice them until after I got pregnant. I'm 6 weeks and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it. It is sensitive to press down on the spot and hurts to brush my hair. I also have been shedding a lot of hair, a lot more than normal. Hoping to find out some answers. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
How are you? It is normal to experience your first migraine during pregnancy. There are studies that associate migraine with hormonal changes.   A headache diary usually helps. List possible trigger of the headache so that you can avoid them in the future. Common triggers include: stress, chocolate, cheese, coffee, weather and hormones. Applying a cold towel on your head and relaxation may help. If it persists , have this evaluated further by your doctor. Take care and do keep us posted.
