Rathke cyst appearing suddenly?

This week my neurologist told me a have a cyst on my pituitary gland and it possibly a Rathke cyst. He has me going to 2 additional MRIs this week to confirm what kind of cyst I have. I am confused because everything that I read stated that this kind of cyst or congenital but I had 2 MRIs and 2 CT scans 4 months ago and it didn't show anything. If I had a Rathke cyst would it have showed up then?

Hm.  They suspected that I had a tumor in my pituitary gland which is very common and harmless.  An MRI was to show it if I did and it didn't.  So, they then ruled that out as a cause of the symptoms I was having.  So, I think it is a good question to ask if it isn't seen with your current tests if that means it can be ruled out.  What symptoms make them suspect this?
