HEAD~ ACHE?

I was awakened around 5am 2 mornings ago with a pulsating sensation on the top of my head, on the right side.  It was not painful as in sharp cutting pain, but more so uncomfortable pain.  It lasted for almost an hour.  I could feel a pulsating almost heartbeat, like sensation when touching with my hand.  It did stop, but later returned on the left side of my head towards the back on top.  I also started experiencing some pressure, as if my ears needed popped, or almost like when you would have  sinus pressure.  However these feelings are on the top part of my head and im experiencing no other indications it would be sinus related.  The feeling has pretty much stayed on the top, left side of my head.  I did call my doctor and she said give it some time if i experience any eye sight difficulty or dizziness, call her back.  Have you heard of these symtoms before?  Im worried about anurisms and blood vessels....

Thank you for your reply...I have been experiencing some headaches that are unbearable, my doctor did a ct scan but it returned normal results, she prescribed me imitrex 50mg but it didnt touch the pain.  I have felt these pains before but only for a split second, they never lasted very long at all. this was the first time.  I did have flushing of my face and head, and I felt feverish for about an hour. Later that day I had some dizziness and pressure and sound was distant.  Im just baffled. My doctor says she has never heard of these symtoms to just watch for worsening??

Hi,
If you had a pulsatile headache, it will hint towards migraine. Have you ever had migraines in the past? Do you take any drugs such as calcium channel blockers or nitrates that were recently started? Did you have flushing of the face and head and did you get an allergy? Has your blood pressure been checked? On the other hand, it is highly unlikely for an aneurysm to present in this fashion. So you can relax and watch for reappearance, worsening or associated symptoms. In case that happens consult your doc.
