pain in the behind head

Hi Am having pain in the behind head,which is right behind my ears.I only have pain in the right side of my behind head.It started 4 yrs ago.The pain went off for abt 6 months.Now recently i am encountering with the same problem.The pain stays for 5 -10 mins seviourly and goes off.I have not taken any medication until now.When i consulted with doctors they told me its just bcoz of stress.
Is there anything serious abt it.

Sounds like you have the same kind of pains I do.  Research SUNCT Syndrome.  The cause...who knows.  I do have a pituitary tumor and Bromocriptine helps keep the pains under control except that it does get worse throughout the years.  Get an MRI.  I'd be interested to know if you find out you have a pituitary tumor also.  Good luck!

I have no injury in my head.I dont smoke or take alcohol.whenever am in stress,over happiness i feel the pain.Am not alergic to loudness too.

Hi,

I do have a few questions just to clarify some things:

Have you experienced any form of trauma or injury to the head or neck?

Did the headaches occur abruptly?

Are there any known triggers that could have caused your headaches ( alcohol,bright lights and loud sounds?)

Any other associated symptoms like blurring of vision, nausea and vomiting,weakness or numbness in the extremities?
