MS Footwear?

Hi folks, last fall I was advised by a PT and OT to try to avoid flip flops and heels and wear comfy flats to help with balance and muscle fatigue.

Fast forward 8 months later and I am noticing some redness at the bottom of the big toe and baby toe of the same foot. Seems to be on the bone in each spot so I am thing bunions or something starting. Since all of my shoes are all different styles and are rarely worn more than a day before I wear another, I am not sure if that is the case.

There is no pain but the red marks do not seem to go away and its been a few months now and I don't think it is gait related since nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Not sure if this means flats do not work for me or if there is another kind of shoe I should be searching for specifically.

Any suggestions, or even explanations would be greatly appreciated,

Corrie

byygrace - so glad you like those alegrias.  My collection is about a dozen pairs.  They are about all I can wear and i recommend them all the time and have many people wearing them now.

Corriel - they can be found at
alegriashoeshop.com - be sure to look at their sale shoes.

The people who answer their phones are very helpful and can help you figure out the european sizing.  they have free shipping - both ways if you need to return them.  They are great to work with.  good luck if you decide to try them - there are so many choices it can be a real challenge.

I had read a recommendation on here a year or so ago for Alegrias. I have 2 pairs now and love them! I spend 50 hours a week at work on my feet and these have been amazing. They are hard to find in stores but you can go to their website at alegria.com or Google the brand. Good luck!

I have a pair of crocks with a special reinforced tread. Most crocks have to flimsy a tread and you can fall. These are made for doctors. They work for me. I also have Cancer and the chemo takes the skin off my feet all the way to the bone.
