A strange incident with my cousin.

A few days before a very strange thing happened to my cousin (Aneqa). She is about 15 years old, height 5 foot 4 inches, weight 55 kg. When she returned from a journey about 7-8 eight hours long and reached her room, she suddenly got out of control. Her hands were stretched outwards. Her eyes moved outwards. Small bubbles starting coming from her mouth after about 20 - 30 secs. Her body didn't have any kind of resistance. Her body and mind both looked to me as if they were dead. Then I checked whether she is breathing or not. She was breathing. Everybody around her yelled and shake her for about 30 secs but she didn't respond. Then I brought some water and sprinkled on her face. Her eyes moved a little when I sprinkled the water on her face. Then I sprinkled whole glass of water on her. She started coming back. She then drank a glass of water. After some time she came back to normal condition. Doctor checked her after ten minutes of this incident and found a little low blood pressure. Beside that every thing was normal. Next day when she woke after sleeping she didn't remembered any of this and she is perfectly normal now.

NOTE: This is the first time something like this has happened to her.
NOTE: She had dinner about 2 hours before this happened.
NOTE: She was sleeping in a car before she came to her room.
NOTE: She went to a hilly area for a trip. This was a very long 2 day trip.
NOTE: Nothing hit her head.
NOTE: She slept for a very few hours in the trip and also couple of days before the trip.

Q.1 What happened to my cousin?
Q.2 Should we go for a brain checkup because she is perfectly ok now?
Q.3 Also what should a person do when something like this happens to her again?

Believe me her mind was dead for that one minute. If she would have been alone I don't know what could have happened to her.

Hello,

It sounds like your cousin may have had a seizure. She should see a doctor, a neurologist would be good to find out why. It can be caused by different kinds of medical conditions which may need to be treated. They may do a brain scan to check for tumors. Often they do not find a cause, called epilepsy. Medication can be given to help control it.
When it happens it is important to protect the person from injury like if they fall. It is good to turn the person on their side so if there is fluid in the mouth it will run out and not choke on it, do not try to put anything in the mouth.  Sometimes people will sleep awhile afterward and can't remember it happened. It is frightening to see but will usually pass in a minute or so. Do get checked out and good luck.
