Hi. I am a 26 year old healthy female.
I prolapsed/slipped a disc in my lower back about 4 years ago, and suffered with extreme pain for quite a while, however following some treatment (non surgical) the pain went away and I have not suffered for a couple of years.
I use a computer every day and quite often get pins and needles in my hands, particularly following a long car journey, when I have been driving. I self-diagnosed that one as carpel tunnel syndrome!? ha
About 4 weeks ago, I was on a flight for about 7 hours, I am very conscious of sitting for a long time on a plane and so walked up and down the aisle quite a few times. I did fall asleep for about an hour and when I woke up I had extreme pins and needles in my legs. I put it down simply to sitting funny, which I'm still quite sure it was - but I did go the bathroom later and fainted (I don't usually do that)
During my trip away, every day or so I would get pins and needles in my legs, feet and arms, not always the same ones and always quite randomly - not following any particular activity (I could be walking, sitting or lying). It would eventually go away. I have been trying to forget about it, but it does keep happening and I'm starting to get concerned. I do have a dull pain in my left hand just under the thumb but apart from that I have no other complaints.
I just don't know if I need to go to the doctor or if I'm just over-worrying myself? Anyone got any suggestions?
