Back pain and burning sensation

I injured my back at work about 2 mths ago, and I'm an auto mechanic so i'm used to getting hurt and being in odd body positions on a regular basis. So anyways after about 2 weeks of originally hurting myself my girlfriend finally made me go to doctor. they diagnosed me with a lumbar strain and theoraic strain. So doctors gave me ibprofen and soma/ skelactin and they do help some. but my fear is that i have something further wrong with my back, orignally i heard a popping/cracking noise in my spine area upon original injury, followed by a lot of inflamation. i have been stretching constantly and even bought an exercise mat to do so, but i've noticed more so lately the constant feel of having a bad sun burn and some itching from mid&upper back and occasionally pectoral area. if i get good nights sleep i feel fine in morning and generally have some minor aches and pain, but the burning develops when i get home from a long days work. Now obviously i would like an MRI but seems as if insurance company is beating around the bush. to me it seems as if its a pinched nerve or some sort of nerve issue, but what throws me off is the changing and the variety of pain i feel. any info you can give me would be appreciated. thank you Paul

Last year I had a burning sensation between my shoulder blades on my back. It felt like a sunburn and at first that was what I thought it was. I had been at the pool with my grandson for several hours and did not seem to burn, but the pain did not go away. It felt like someone was ironing my back. I could barely wear clothing even the wind made it hurt worse. I didn't have any insurance so I just lived with it. I could not even stand for my husband to give me a hug it hurt so bad. I couldn't sit back in my chair or in the car. It NEVER stopped day or night. It lasted for almost 6 months. Then as fast as it started it stopped. I was under a lot of stress during this time. It has been about 5 months with no pain and now it has started again. Any ideas what might be going on???

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
It very clearly suggests that now with exertion you are having pain and it is getting relieved with rest. So you need to rest, follow medication and diagnose your problem  properly. I also suggest that you work ergonomically properly at work place and you should have proper back rest, support etc. Take care!
