Burning sensation

I have been experiencing a surning sensation over my leg and arms for about two years. I was diagnosed with shin splints for the leg - which I disagree with. The burning sensation has worsened and spread to other parts of my body - pretty much the entire thing. At times it isn't as bad as other times, but there is always the burning sensation somewhere. daily it is on my arms, legs, back (especially my spine) and face. When it is really bad it is on the top of my head as well. At times I also feel it on my tongue and in my eye. It's aweful! It is also more recently at the base of my neck. I have also noticed very recently that some of my limp nodes appear to hurt or be swollen.

I have had an MRI to rule out multiple scerosis - which apparently it did. I have been diagnosed with reflux of the throat recently. Which I think may not be totally accurate. The burning in my mouth may account for their thinking it's acid reflux in the throat - or not - I'm not a doctor. I am however educated enough to know that this is not normal and needs to stop. I am an elementary school teacher.

I guess my question is what to do and what to say to the docotr so that they take me serious and not give me an off the cuff diagnosis. Please help! It's been progressively getting worse for the past 2 years.

Hello the thing that jumped out at me in your post is the swollen lymph nodes, you should definitely pursue that. Maybe you should see a different doctor, a fresh set of eyes looking at your chart could make all the difference. I f I were you I would look into maybe an autoimmune cause there are over 100 autoimmune diseases and they can cause swollen lymph nodes as well as the nerve pain you are experiencing. Please pursue this sooner rather than later. I hope this helps you, feel better soon.

I agree with Czabel, get a second opinion.  Something is happening and she sounds correct with the autoimmune possibility, what about lyme disease has anyone checked you for this?  Could luck to you and soon, Sage
