Central Vertigo Diagnosis

Hi.  I've been diagnosed with central vertigo via VNG testing.   I was given 2MG Valium to take if I get a severe attack and head exercises.

My question is this:  Should I persue other diseases for this diagnosis or just accept that I have Vertigo?  Maybe I need to go see a neurologist.  The ENT is the one who gave the vertigo diagnosis.  I have a chronic headache with light and sound sensitivity.   Thank you.

I am glad things are working out for you.  You always have that option for a second opinion too, but it is better if the first opinion works out for you :)

Thank you for your comments.  I sincerely appreciate your input.  I've been doing the Cawthorne Head exercises and they seem to be helping.  It's better than it was, so I'll keep pushing on.  If it gets worse, I'll go to another doctor.

Thank you again.

Yes, I think so too; vertigo is just a symptom.  Some physicians do use this as a diagnosis, but I don't agree.  I would go with a second opinion; I am sure you want to know what is the underlying cause of the central vertigo.

No, i'm not doubting his diagnosis; I've read that vertigo is usually just a symptom and not a disease itself.

  Tks for your comment.

Sounds like you are questioning the ENT's diagnosis.  If you are doubting there is nothing wrong with getting the opinion of a Neurologist.  Remenber, it is your body and health and you should feel 100% confident with a diagnosis that is given to you whether it is good or bad.
