Does tuberous sclerosis causes brain tumors?

I just found out that my 7 year old son, Ashton has a braing tumor. At the age of 15 months old he was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis. He does has a history of sizures. My question is does tuberous sclerosis causes or could it have caused his tumor. The only symptoms he have shown was headaches, and very little vomiting. But the doctor told me that the tumor is very large. Please give me more information?

Hi, “tuberous sclerosis or tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare, multi-system genetic disease that causes benign tumours to grow in the brain and on other vital organs such as the kidneys, heart, eyes, lungs, and skin. Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuberous_sclerosis
