Growth/Lumps on back of head

I am looking for a possible cause or explanation of growths/lumps on the back of the head about 2 inches from the hairline from the ear. One on the right is about the size of a Hershey kiss and the left one is about the size of a marble. They are not red, scaly or in any way visually showing any symptoms. The areas are not painful unless pressed and have just "appeared" on my 15 year old daughter. She did have craniosynostosis as an infant but this was surgically repaired by an outstanding neurosurgeon at 6 weeks of age. She was completely released with no restrictions at the age of five. She has no symptoms of illness (no fever, rash, headaches, etc.) Her neurosurgeon has since relocated to another state and I don't know who to ask if this could be related to the craniosynostosis or something a GP can look at - if it needs attention.

Any ideas or direction for answers would be appreciated!!!

Hi,

Lyme disease is a tick borne bacterial infection. The main symptoms include fever, fatigue, circular rash, headaches and muscle and joint pain.
Swollen lymph nodes are also seen.
Does she have any fever or rash?
The lump on the head may be swollen lymph nodes due to lymes disease.
Usually a blood test like ELISA or IFA is done to make the diagnosis.
A throat swab is generally taken to rule out strep throat.

He thinks she has Lyme Disease and took blood and swabbed her throat ( I assume this is the normal testing procedure??) He put he on antibiotics... Does these seems reasonable?

Hi,

How are you?
It is very difficult to pin point the exact diagnosis without a physical examination. Some of the causes of lump on the head can be sebaceous cyst, enlarged lymph node, and lump due to scalp infection.
It does not seem to be coming from inside the brain. However nothing can be said for sure without examination.
Please consult her pediatrician as soon as possible.
