For the past 4 years I have developed a periodic hand twitch or jerk. It is very similar to a hypnic jerk, but I have it throughout the day. It happens in both hands periodically. They are usually small jerks but there was a point where I almost tossed me drink out of my hand with the force of the twitch alone. The first few years when it started, I also had hand pain that I would playfully refer to as arthritis (I am in my early 30s). I don't have the pain anymore, and I started taking a multivitamin about 6 months ago. I feel the twitches may have became less frequent with the vitamins but they came back. I do have a few bad habits of not drinking enough water, probably needing more sleep. I've had a few episodes of deep stress that have affected me physically in other ways, but whether I am in stress or not, these jerks twitches remain. I do have a niece who has epilepsy. Is this neurological? Should I be worried? Is there anything I can do to stop them, or will I have them the rest of my life?
