What was the outcome of it.
My cousin son is 2 years old and he got ck levels around 13000. But he is very active child and doesn't have any symptoms. He got some fever and for that they did the blood test and they found this CK levels. They suggested to neurologist and they did the genetic test and results will come in 6 weeks. this wait time is killing us. Its very very scary. Please guide us.

Dear Sir, My Son 13 years old is seem to be having Muscular Distrphy. He is a bright child with academic record. We have underwent quite many tests incuding CPK. which definately is higher then normal . I only want to know , how and with what help we can drop down the CPK levels so the damage can be stopped. i will highly apprecaite your early response in this regard. We already are giving him Q10 the supplementary diet. We will like to know how can we dealy or mend the distructing cells.

Our daughter is 8 and for the last year has ck ranging from 3000-7000. We have been to numerous specialist, rhumatolist and nuerology (sorry for the spelling) and no answers. no weakness at all, but has been getting tired a little more than usual? she also has a darkness between her eyes and nose that doesn't seem to go away.
What did you find out? Our daughter has a CPK level of around 3,400. She is 7. She has been complaining of muscle pain within the last several months only. It was first tested 3 years ago because her liver enzymes were elevated, but no symptoms. It has been consistently going up about 1000 per year. We go for a muscle weakness test in 10 days. If that does show weakness, she will have to have a muscle biopsy. I was hoping to hear that there are some non-dabilitating explanations for this. Also, has anyone reading this had any results from swimming or equine (horseback riding) therapy?
My son has cpk levels of 5000. The numbers have gone up and down from 1000 to the current 5000. He is only 2 years old. We have already been to a neurologist and been screened for MD. They said he had a 95% chance of not having MD based on that test and so now they have done a muscle biopsy. It is extremely nerve racking to wait and think that you child may have a disease or illness. We have to go thru the testing and should have results in a few weeks. We pray everything ultimately will be fine.
My son is 4 years old and has been complaining of muscle pain for about 1 and half years now. The pediatricians kept telling me it was nothing and just growing pains. We were finally referred to a arthritis doctor he did some blood test and his CPK level came back as 16.146 his adoleze was also extremely elevated and his liver enzymes. We were immediately referred to a pediatric neurologist. After a thorough physical examine along with the blood test results I was told they are 80 percent sure he has Muscular Dystrophy or there is a 20 percent chance it could be another rare muscle disease. They did an EKG which thank God came back normal. Now we have to wait 4-6 weeks for the genetic test to come back to see if he has the gene that causes MD. the waiting is killing me. Good luck in your quest for answers and know there are other people out there going through what you are. Keep being a good parent and dont let any doctor stand in your way. You know your child better than anyone.

Hi,
How are you?
CPK is found in the skeletal muscles, heart muscles and brain cells. Elevated CPK usually indicates muscle damage. Some of the causes of elevated CPK are polymyositis, dermatomyositis, viral infections and heart diseases like viral myocarditis.
Elevated LDH levels can indicate heart injury or lung or liver injury.
What symptoms does your child have?
In children sometimes massive elevation of CPK is seen due to myositis following severe influenza. Other cause in children is spinal muscular dystrophy.
Exact cause can be diagnosed only after a clinical exam.
