I am a 36 year old female. 2 years ago, I woke up with pins and needles and numbness feeling in my right foot up to my knee. First series of tests indicated autoimmune. However, it was very low. Went to Rheumatologist who said ANA was low and the one antibody that did show positive (Centromere) he thought was a false positive due to lack of symptoms, but to see a neurologist. I have had an MRI of my brain and lower back with clean results. Recently pulled bloodwork again. Same results of ANA with high Centromere, Vitamin D deficient. Symptoms have worsened over time with numbness, tingling, PAIN from the knee down, inability to put pressure on my right foot after sitting or laying for a period of time. Also coldness now is playing a part and I am beginning to walk with a limp. I have an appointment to see a neuromuscular specialist, but not for two months. I have been reading about the Peroneal nerve and it seems to cover my symptoms. Begging my docs for an MRI on my leg. Could this be a separate nerve issue all together and not related to autoimmune at all? Also have made an appointment with Podiatrist to see if he can add any insight. Have also been to Orthopedic. He states knee is in great shape and pain in my upper leg is probably because of early onset of arthritis in my right hip.
