Hi there,
I was recently told that I have some minor ulnar nerve damage in both arms. This was the result of testing after seeing a doctor regarding the following symptoms:
a. unmanageable pain (without painkillers) throughout arm from elbow to and through all of both hands.
b. unexpectedly losing control (ie. dropping glasses). Some days I can't pull up my pants, do zippers or hold a pen - this doesn't usually stay all day but it has been getting worse.
c. a sense of inflammation around the carpal tunnel.
d. weakness in hands.
e. just today I started trembling.
f. I have also become increasingly tired - needing a nap seemingly every 5 hours.
**None of these symptoms (apart from variations of intensity in pain) last all day.
The neurologist I saw recommended the conservative method and told me that the damage was minor - however, these symptoms do not feel minor.
I have also been practicing the conservative method for 3 months (ie. did not take notes in any of my classes all semester, bought dictation software, strap pillows around my elbows when I sleep so that they don't bend, avoid putting my hand or arms on tables or chairs, bought book stands so that I wouldn't have to hold them...)
The symptoms seem to be progressing (increased tiredness, mental fog and tody trembling).
I hate trudging through doctors office after office and would greatly appreciate some advice on how to proceed and possible diagnoses.
Many thanks!
Rose
