LS MRI, back pain , bowel bladder issues

I (25 yr Female) have been having severe bowel and bladder issues since March of 2008, and terrible lower back since pain a few weeks after that.  I recently received my med records as I am changing MDs and came an MRI (May 2008) that I had been told was normal.  The MRI reads Bony canal is adequate; straightening of thoracolumbarlordosis which may be positional or due to spasm. Minimal foraminal foraminal narrowing is present bilaterally at L5-S1 and mild degenerative changes involve these facetjoints and those of L4-L5.

Focal disk dessication is present at L5-S1, where there s a small broad-based midline disck dessication and a tiny right formaminal component.  There is additionally a tiny right paracentral herniation at T-12 L1.

While I had been told all was normal, I wam wondering if this is causing my problems...

Many thanks

Hello marnball,
The spinal foraminal foraminal narrowing  present bilaterally at L5-S1 and mild degenerative changes involving facetjoints and those of L4-L5and  focal disk dessication  present at L5-S1, and right paracentral herniation at T-12 L1 are the possible causes of your bladder symptoms and the backache.
You should take a second opinion and get the evaluation done
