Hi everyone. I am new to the site. Recently, I began to feel very unwell, started having tremors, poor gait, head pains, and just generally not feeling well all round. I am a female, currently 43 years old. My Dr. sent me for an MRI, and this was the finding:
Punctate area of restricted diffusion right centrum semiovale, possibly acute (less than 14 day) ischemic change
Non-masslike altered signal left aspect of the pons extending to the middle cerebellar peduncle. This is nonspecific in nature with a broad differential inclding malignancy. Further assessment with contrast imaging suggested.
I was called back in 2 days after my first MRI, to have one done with contrast. The following is the report:
NO ALTERED ENHANCEMENT. There is no altered dural or parenchymal enhancement.
Finding within the left aspect of the pons/middle cerebellar. This is nonspecific in nature. This may reflect some nonacute ischemic change, demyelination (pattern not diagnostic by imaging), low-grade neoplasm.
I was sent to see a neurologist, hoping to have her be able to explain these to me, but she didn't. All she did is say that I have to go for Evoked Potentials, as well as have another MRI done.
Could someone PLEASE explain to me what is going on, basically, what my MRI's mean?
Thank you in advance!
