MRI REPORT =HELP

I just had this MRI conducted and I have an appointment to get a nerve study done, after that an appointment with a neurosurgeon.

Does this  report look as bad as it reads. What should I be expecting  ( Im a 51 year old male )


Disc bulge and uncovertebral arthropathy with biateral neural foraminal stenosis and relative spinal canal stenosis at C3-4, C4-5, C5-6 AND C6-7.

1. Bilateral L5 spondylolysis with grade I spondylolisthesis.
2. Disc bulge at L5-S1 with central and left paracentral annular tear.
3. Central annulat tear with disc protrusion at L4-5.
4. Left foraminal disc protrusion at L3-4.

The severity of your condition should ultimately be correlated with what symptoms you are experiencing right now.  Your neurologist would be able to explain to you more these findings on your MRI.

Grade I spondylolisthesis is a low-grade spondylolisthesis and is most commonly managed with pharmacologic treatment (pain meds), modification of activity, as well as physical therapy.  It is only in severe cases that surgery is warranted.

I am 51 years old and retired from the Army, in 1984 I had a parachute malfunction and caused a Spinal injury. I have numbness and sometimes prickling and stinging in my legs and arms and constant stiffness/pain in my neck.
